La Luna Contenta

Ours is a small, carefully tended vineyard in Oregon’s Rogue Valley, nestled in the Siskiyou foothills and facing the Cascade range. A robust morning sun, afternoon shade and hillside breezes combine with ancient clay soil to provide an ideal growing environment for our grapes. Autumn temperatures that can vary up to 50 degrees add to the grapes’ inherent depth of character. This wine is 100% Syrah and unfiltered. Planting is limited and with heavy pruning, production was kept to about a hundred twenty five cases of elegantly nuanced bottles. It drinks beautifully now but will cellar well for five to ten years. We’re very pleased to offer it.

  • 2016 La Luna Contenta Syrah

“This is not a raucous, in your face version of Syrah. We were going for a wine with a bit more balance and finesse. The 2016 La Luna Contenta Syrah has the deep color you expect in a fine Syrah, with a medium body. Integrated tannins, balance and great representation of the fruit characterize our first vintage from these 19 year old vines. The ’16 is drinking well now but will surely benefit from cellaring over the next 5+ years.”

  • 2018 La Luna Contenta Viognier

We added this 2018 vintage Viognier to the lineup as a Rhone complement to our flagship Syrah. It’s a great every day companion wine with your typical notes of sweet summer stone fruits.
